ABOUT ME
Gakuyu-ini is the only factory at Thirikwa Cooperative Society in the charming town of Kiamutugu. Founded in 1997 after the Ngariama Society split due to the liberalization of 1996 where each village decided to manage their own washing stations.
Thirikwa Cooperative has currently 1,684 members and is continuously growing. As a result, two collection points have been created in Mukure & Wakabru to avoid farmers to transport long distances. Ripe cherries are collected then by the Cooperative tractor and delivered to Gakuyu-ini.
Being a AA, these beans are big and beautiful with close to no defects which roasts up a treat. Since jumping off the cupping table it's been a crowd pleaser using filter brewing methods and a creates a lively espresso.
